Saint John’s Historic Bridge

The Saint John’s Historic Bridge was built in 1931 across the Willamette River north of Portland. Underneath the east side landing is Cathedral Park where I took these pictures.

Japanese Gardens

Within the city of Portland Oregon there are several parks. Washington Park is the home of the Japanese Gardens. It was a very nice day and I took some pictures.

Mom's 90th Birthday Weekend

My mother, Moorcroft family matriarch, turned 90 in November and we flew into town to help celebrate her birthday. Also joining in on the fun was Sandy, Jill, Darryl, Susie, Krissy, Derk, Uncle Jim, and friends with a special Zoom appearance by Zach and Cory.

Multnomah and Horsetail Falls

Multnomah and Horsetail Falls are about a 30 minute drive from Portland so we spent a couple of hours there on a nice day and had lunch at the lodge. Pictures are here.

Cross Country Trip

We were moving from Orlando to Portland Oregon. So we hooked up the trailer to the car and drove. These are some pictures and videos we took along the way.

We took three weeks to drive up to Maine and back, stopping in Pennsylvania to visit Zach and Kim. It was a wet trip with a lot of rain and a lot of fresh haddock and lobster to go with it.

Harvest Hosts One-nighters

We used our Harvest Hosts membership to stay at a few establishments over night in the southeast USA to see how our new car would handle pulling our Tiny House. We didn’t take too many pictures but the the new car worked like a champ. A few pictures are here.

Markham Woods Mountain Bike Trails

The best mountain bike trails close to home are the Markham Woods Mountain Bike Trails located on the property of Wekiva Springs State Park. Some pictures are here.

Clearwater Lake Recreation Area

On the southern end of the Ocala National Forest, Clearwater Lake Recreation Area has a nice campground and lake with hiking trail around the perimeter that takes you through part of the largest sand pine scrub forest in the world (which is Ocala NF). We hiked around the lake and hope to return with The Tiny House and bikes some day to ride the Paisley Woods mountain bike trail and walk the Florida Trail which have trailheads in the park .

Clearwater Lake @ Ocala National Forest

We returned to Clearwater Lake recreation area with The Tiny House, bikes, and walking sticks for three nights and rode the Paisley Woods mountain bike trail one day and hiked the Florida Trail the next.

Tiger Creek Preserve

We went looking for a place to go hiking near Lake Wales FL and found Tiger Creek Preserve. A few pictures are here. It’s a 2.6 mile loop on the Lake Wales Ridge. There were no other people there at all, but we did see 2 bald eagles fly almost directly overhead while loudly announcing their presence.
